HOW TO PROPERLY SET FITNESS GOALS

How to set and achieve your fitness goals.

When it comes to fitness goals, people often set their goals amiss. Properly setting your fitness goals will not only help you achieve them but help you sustain them. Today, i will be going over my top four tips to help you set and smash your fitness goals. Let’s go!

GIVE IT TIME

Yes, i know you want to get ripped as fast as possible or drop two to three dress sizes in a minute but you have to understand it takes time. You most certainly did not gain all that fat in one day so don’t expect it to go away like that. Keep doing the good work, enjoy and trust the process and you will get there. Your patience will go a long way in your fitness journey and will also help you stay on it for as long as possible. Lack of patience is what often times make people do drastic things which have in several situations caused them their lives in the process. Again, patience.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

When you finally decide to change your lifestyle to start eating healthy, exercising and generally staying active, i want you to do it for yourself. Make it personal to be healthier rather than doing it because you are being forced to. At this point, i want you to be self centered. Of course people will be impressed by what you have achieved but the greatest feeling is being proud of yourself.

SET THE BAR LOW

We all started from somewhere. Even the worlds most ripped being started off with having a regular dad bod but he got to where he is today by slowly improving. Let’s say your goal is fat loss, it is not advisable to rush anything. Have the mindset of moving slow and steady, you can start by loosing one kilogram per week, that’s a very good place to begin and overtime, I promise, you will get your dream physique.

PLAY THE LONG GAME

Relating this to the first heading we spoke about, you should aim for longevity rather than a two week plan. Fitness should be a lifestyle not something you do whenever you want to. Making it a lifestyle means you are constantly going to be active. Playing the long game will simply give you time to achieve your goals and will make you less disappointed. Like i said, it takes time.
