STARTING YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY AND STICKING WITH IT: 7 TIPS
Today i will be giving you some tips to help you start your fitness journey and to make it your lifestyle.
The fitness industry is expanding as more people are looking to get fit every single day. They’ll get workout programs for a couple of bucks which they will unfortunately fall out of mostly because they just want to get ripped as fast as possible not knowing that getting fit takes time. So today i will be taking you through my own tips that has gotten me to where i am today without loosing motivation.
GET PROFESSIONAL ADVICE FIRST
Yes, get a professional to help you get started. This might be your doctor, physical therapist or a fitness instructor (like me)to check with you before starting out or getting a workout program/diet plan as they know better because of their experience with training. I will strongly advice you to do this because starting your fitness journey is a long one and you should be prepared for it. Starting without this will seriously get you injured and end your journey before it even starts.
REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED
Now, so much people forget this which is just funny. Before you decide to start working out, there has to be a reason. It could be because you just want to look better in a t-shirt, get in the best shape of your life, etc. Whatever your reason might be, if you’re constantly reminding yourself of “why am i doing this" then you’ll be way more motivated to get things done with ease as the best advice you’ll get is the one you’ll give yourself.
MAKE IT YOUR LIFESTYLE
Working out is not just a three week work one year off, no! If you decide to start working out and getting in the best shape of your life, they it should become a part of you because every single day you wake up, you should remember that you have to get your chores done and adding your exercise to it and then backing it up with your clean diet will get you to where you want to get to.
PATIENCE, CONSISTENCY WILL DO...
These words are already self explanatory. Working out and seeing the results take time. Honestly, it takes a lot of time to look like a movie star considering where your starting point is and where your end goal is but it’s a promise, you will get there. When it comes to consistency, it obviously means “keep going" of course there will be some days when you just don’t want to, but when you back it up by remembering why you started, then you’ll feel more motivated to get it.
YOU WILL NEVER LOOK LIKE THEM
Don’t get me wrong on this one, of course you can get big, shredded and even get really vascular, but what i really mean is that you cannot have the same body as another individual. The way you look, the size of your muscles, your height, etc will all be determined by your genetics, your training, and some other physical factors. So you cannot look like your favorite actor even if you do his or workouts and diet because what works for them might not work for you. You are you and you are special on your own.
ENJOY THE PROCESS
Your fitness journey should not be something you just want to get over with. If you really decide to train and with a long term expectation, then you should do it in a way that you would enjoy it. Choose exercises that you enjoy, either dancing, playing sports lifting weights, etc it should make you happy so you won’t stop halfway through. Your diet should not be something you hate also, it shouldn’t be too strict but a little flexible. If you want a cheat meal, go and get. In essence, it should all be fun as well as a learning process for you.
THESE TIPS WON’T WORK UNLESS YOU DO
Yes, i can keep listing tips untill you are tired of reading, but if you don’t implement these into your daily routine or even try to think of it, then you will never be able to get the body you want.
