When it comes to being healthy, most people think it’s about eating lots and lots of vegetables with intense cardio sessions but there is more to that than you think! Being healthy should be a lifestyle for longevity and making these changes to your daily routine will get you looking and feeling healthier and in the long run, become a part of you.

Today, i will be going over seven(7) tips scientifically proven to make you healthier and trust me, it is a lot easy once you get the hang of it. So, let’s dive into it!

EAT HEALTHY

I can bet you already guessed this one and it’s at the top of my list. Why? Because diet is everything! You cannot outrun a bad diet, quote me anywhere. You should be eating right at least 70 to 80% of the time. This is an optimal range. But hear me out, saying “diet” doesn’t mean strict foods because people tend to give up their journeys due to their inability to stay consistent and boom! Their transformation ends before it even starts. You should be eating foods you enjoy the right way with a mix of cheat meals once in a while as it will help you maintain your routine and make things a lot easier and straight forward. You might have heard a lot about counting calories but it’s not as easy as you think. It takes a lot to stick to it and I won’t lie, it can be stressful especially for beginners. But take note, if you’re looking to loose weight, just start by eating smaller and reverse is the case if you want to get bigger, it’s that easy, well, as long as you’re eating the right foods. Right foods you ask? Simple, if it comes in a packet, it’s pointless eating it. Substitute for whole foods instead, that will go a long way and keep you full for long.

STAY HYDRATED

It’s as easy as that, drink plenty of water, at least 2–3 liters per day should be fine as water aids digestion, prevents constipation, stabilizes the heartbeat, cushions the joints, etc. You should also try as much as possible to avoid carbonated drinks, they’re basically pointless to your body as they are just empty calories and a lot of sugar and your body needs none of these for survival. Better still, limit the intake slowly until you’re strong enough to completely let go of it.

MEASURE AND WATCH YOUR WEIGHT

It is optimal to check your weight once a week as it gives you your body status to know if you’re gaining weight or loosing weight. This can be very crucial especially when you’re trying to gain or loose weight. It tells you if whatever you did the previous week made you derail or pointed you in the right direction thereby telling you if you’ll need to adjust or stay on track.

EXERCISE REGULARLY

Staying active helps you a lot! It makes you look and feel younger, strengthens your bones and muscle, reduces health risks and better manages your weight. Making this change includes reducing your sedentary lifestyle and makes you more active throughout the day and ready to move at anytime. In summary, if you want to avoid regular trips to the hospital, work for it! Your body will thank you.

GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Yes, the best of all. Sleep… most people advice you take about 7–8 hours of sleep per night but I won’t lie, I have never had that much sleep. I take at least 6 hours of sleep per night and it works for me. You should listen to your body as your daily activities may fluctuate causing more stress than other days making you sleep longer than some nights. So if you feel really tired, take longer sleep durations to reenergize your body.

Summary

Your health and body matters as you only get one throughout your lifetime. Take care of it and make the required changes and see how it turns out.
